Six6s Lunch 2017
Day 1 of the Specsavers County Championship
Middlesex CCC Vs Somerset CCC
After the rain affected 2016 Six6s lunch, we were treated to a fabulous day weather wise. For the Middlesex fans that attended, it was tough viewing as Somerset racked up 443 in the first innings with a fine hundred from Dean Elgar. Middlesex fought back to score 358 with a fluent 86 from Adam Voges before he retired hurt.

In addition to the excellent food and service in the boxes at Lord’s, we were fortunate enough to have Middlesex legend, Director of Cricket and former England fast bowler, Angus Fraser join us for a Q&A with the guests.
One of the most pleasing aspects of the day was seeing one of the guests bring her father to the match who had dreamt of coming to Lord’s and never managed it. At over 70 years old, this was his first visit and he had a day he will always remember.
Equally pleasing was seeing the joy in the face of Lance Heggaith, Founder of a charity called Sports Trainer who help disadvantaged children through access to sport. To a small charity like Sports Traider, every penny counts and through the support of our prize donors such as The Wisley and Monte Rei, and Barclays who continue to be brilliant and consistent in their support of our events, we raised over £3,000 for the charity.
Gus shared some great stories with us, including details of how and why he has a room in Brian Lara’s house named after him. Like the other England bowlers who Lara flayed to all parts of the St. John’s ground, Antigua, Gus informed us that Lara was given a property on the island as a reward and wished to acknowledge the bowlers that helped him achieve his record!
